Is all of your jewelry handmade?
Yes, each and every Tornado Gem™ creation is handmade by our designers.
Since each jewel is handmade, will it look just like the photo?
Each jewel will look very similar to the jewelry in the photo. Due to the handmade nature, as well as free form design techniques, each will be slightly different from the next. This makes each piece of jewelry unique, offering an individualistic quality machine manufactured jewelry lacks.
How do I care for my Tornado Gems™ jewelry?
We have a mantra - No Liquid. While water will NOT harm your jewelry (though it could if the jewelry remains in water for an extended time), commercial jewelry cleaners often involve alcohol as an ingredient and could be harmful to your Tornado Gems™. Therefore, by remembering the No Liquid concept, your jewel will stay quite safe.
We also advise keeping all chemicals - such as hairspray, perfumes, etc - away from your jewelry. We would advise this with ANY jewelry, as harsh chemicals can be very damaging to finishes and stones in the long run.
We advise polishing your jewelry with a sunshine cloth. This brings back shine when necessary and removes any grime without causing damage to the metal and gemstones.
What is included in the pricing?
The prices on our website include gift boxing and shipping to anywhere in the world.
Prices also include having a custom jewel created. For instance, if you like the Tornado Gems™ Cross Pendant but would prefer your pendant made with garnet gemstones instead of the Citrine as shown, there will be no extra charge.
Extra charges only apply when upgrading to a fine metal or in the case of a gemstone request when the stones are considerably higher priced. For a list of our gemstones and crystals, please visit this page. Gemstones with higher costs associated are marked.
Is my purchase secure?
All of our purchases are processed through Paypal.Com on their secure website. We never see your credit card number or bank account information.
Any information we do obtain through the order process is used only by us for the purpose of contacting you about your order and for letting you know about future updates to the website.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide.
Can I request a custom order?
Of course! Our site is based on a "custom order concept". We usually show our jewels one way, and allow you to decide if you want to order the jewelry as it is shown, or adjust it by changing your metal color and/or gemstone choices. Specifically, we want you to be able to have your Tornado Gems™ Jewelry crafted to your personal tastes and choices!
You can custom create your jewel upon purchase by including your preferences for the jewel you're ordering in the notes section at checkout. You can also contact us through this website to further discuss your order. If you don't specify anything at checkout or via our contact us page here, we will create your jewelry with the same metal and gemstones as shown in the photo.
How long will it take to receive my custom order jewelry?
If we have the metal and gemstones you request in stock, your jewel will be on it's way to you within 3-5 business days. If we have to order certain metal/stones for your custom jewel, it will be approximately 2-3 weeks before your jewel will be ready for shipment. If you have a rush custom request, we do have expidited methods available for an extra charge.
What kind of materials are used in your jewelry?
The jewelry shown on this website is created using silver (nickel) or gold (brass). We also use genuine gemstones and gemstone chips, genuine freshwater pearls, and Swarovski Crystals.
Your jewel can be created in sterling silver or gold-filled metals for an extra charge (see below).
Can I have my Tornado Gems™ jewelry created in sterling silver?
Yes. Extra charges will apply. Our current rate for creating a jewel in sterling is 40% more than the stated prices. To request your jewel in sterling silver, please contact us with a description of which design(s) you'd like, and we will send you a Paypal invoice for the amount due.
Can I have my Tornado Gems™ jewelry created in gold?
Yes, we can create your Tornado Gems™ jewelry in gold-filled metal. Gold-filled jewelry aka "Rolled Gold" or "Rolled Gold Plate" is composed of a solid layer of gold bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal such as brass. Gold-filled pieces have the look, luster, and beauty of 14 karat gold.
Extra charges will apply. Our current rate for creating a jewel in gold filled metal is 50% more than the stated prices. To request your jewel in gold-filled metal, please contact us with a description of which design(s) you'd like, and we will send you a Paypal invoice for the amount due.
Do you provide gift wrapping?
All Tornado Gems™ come gift boxed and ready for gift giving.
